Floating Berlin

The "Floating University" is a project of the architectural collective "raumlaborberlin" in Berlin. It is located in the rainwater retention basin of the former Tempelhof airport. The temporary structures serve as interdisciplinary meeting spaces for researchers, practitioners, and students. They form a unique learning environment to give participants a new perspective on the city and the environment.

Villa Arpel

In Jacques Tati's film "Mon oncle," his alter ego Monsieur Hulot has to share the lead role with his brother-in-law Arpel's villa. The cult house with the rolling eyes was temporarily rebuilt 1:1 and true to detail in Paris in 2009.

Castle hotels in Baltic States

For GEO magazine, I traveled to the Baltic States to photograph the transformation of former castles and manor houses into hotels.

Tempelhof field

With the closure of Tempelhof Central Airport, Berlin got its largest park. Larger than Central Park in New York or Hampstead Head in London, Tempelhofer field is a unique recreational space within a city of millions.

dialogues 09

For the reopening of the Neues Museum in Berlin, choreographer Sasha Waltz staged the dance project Dialogues 09 in the newly restored empty rooms of the museum.

Antti Lovag

A visit to the architects Antti Lovag on the Côte d'Azur. With his spherical houses and his theory of habitology, the visionary created architectural history in the 70s. His buildings still look futuristic today.

consumption XXL

With 60,000 m² of sales area, the second largest food department in the world and a range of 380,000 items, mostly in the luxury segment, the KaDeWe is a department store of superlatives. To do justice to these dimensions, I have chosen the panoramic format for the shots of the Berlin temple of consumption.

green Paris

In the densely populated capital of France, public gardens and parks are important spaces for recreation and relaxation and are correspondingly popular with residents. A walk through green Paris.

Haydn

On the 200th anniversary of Joseph Haydn's death, I traveled to Vienna and Burgenland for Figaro Magazine on the trail of the great composer.

Karakoram

120 km in the heart of the wild Karakoram. The hard to reach mountain range stretches between the borders of Pakistan, China and India. There are still numerous unclimbed high peaks in the Karakoram, making it the last paradise for mountain adventures.

Ghost town Berlin

In early 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic broke out in Germany. The photo series shows the otherwise bustling and lively city of Berlin during the first lockdown in March 2020. The unusual emptiness in the pictures contrasts strongly with the usual image of a vibrant metropolis and illustrates the impact of the pandemic on public life.
